Settle into your comfortable transport as we leave Melbourne’s outskirts, passing through the bush-laden suburbs of Templestowe, Warrandyte and Wonga Park.
Coldstream Hills Vineyard Tasting
Upon arrival, the views, aspect, and elevation of the Coldstream Hills Winery immediately make evident their success. After tasting award-winning wines, especially their chardonnay and pinot noir, you’ll see why owner James Halliday holds his distinction as one of Australia’s leading commentators on wine.
Medhurst Vineyard Tasting
After a short drive, our next stop is the charming 35-acre Medhurst Vineyard. At a delightful elevation in the foothills of the Warramate Range, this family-owned vineyard established in 1999 exhibits their commitment to quality. Here you’ll taste the care they put into each of their elegant wines.
Domaine Chandon Vineyard Sparkling
We then head to the very famous and very French Domaine Chandon. See how they’ve earned their distinction as Australia's sparkling specialists during your tour of their production facilities. Sip a glass of premium sparkling wine (methode champenoise) while taking in the glorious vista.
Yering Station Vineyard Lunch
Historical Yering Station Vineyard offers a memorable lunch experience. The smart architecture of their stunning Wine Bar Restaurant allows you to take advantage of the sweeping views of the Yarra Valley Ranges. Relax and enjoy the fresh and seasonal cuisine from their full a la carte menu and an elegantly paired wine from their exclusive and extensive wine list.
Chateau Yering & Eleanore’s Restaurant
After lunch, it's a short walk through to the historic homestead of Chateau Yering. The property reflects the elegance of its establishment in 1854, but balances that with more modern efficiencies of a five-star hotel. Settle into your luxurious Garden Suite accommodation before indulging in the award-winning dishes from the creative chefs at Eleanore’s Restaurant.
Sweet Beginnings For Day 2
Morning begins with a delicious breakfast inside the light and comfortable conservatory-style Sweetwater Cafe. Afterwards, enjoy your freedom to explore the facilities until you meet your driver and group for lunch.
Yering Station Vineyard Lunch
The menu at Yering Station Wine Bar Restaurant takes full advantage of the seasonal produce plentifully available in the region and with such variety, there’s sure to be something new to savor. Your meal will be just as memorable as the your post-lunch tour of the historic and original winery (c. 1859) which features local artworks and produce as well as estate and reserve wine to taste.
De Bortoli Vineyard Tasting & Cheese Degustation
Our final stop for the day is the De Bortoli Winery at Dixons Creek. You’ll feel the genuine warmth and hospitality from this 3rd generation Italian family operation. Through careful cultivation, from some of the oldest plantings in the region, the sparkling, table and dessert wines will deliciously compliment your superbly flavoured cheeseboard.
After such a full experience, there is just one thing for you to do - enjoy the ride back home as we pass through Steels Creek and Christmas Hills admiring the superb Valley views. Just make sure to keep an eye out for the occasional kangaroo.
