1. Get hiking at Hanging Rock
Hanging Rock is a popular rock to hike, being the physical result of a volcanic eruption with unique rock formations which are both eye catching and fun to climb! Kids can be part of the fun as well, just make sure you wear sturdy shoes for climbing through the rocks.
Allow 1-2 hours for the walk, depending on how long you want to explore for & how many photos you take.

2. Immerse yourself in some local artwork
Art Galleries are plentiful within the Macedon Ranges region, enabling you to dedicate a whole day of art gallery hopping if you wanted to!
Kyneton especially is home to Gallery 40, Art on Piper, The Old Auction House and Stockroom, to name a few.
The Old Auction house is open 7 days a week and showcases emerging Australian artists and community groups. It’s the perfect place to escape the chilly weather for an hour or so, and don’t forget to bring some spending money to purchase a keepsake in their gift shop!

3.‘Saddle Up’ with Silver Brumby Trails
Located just 15 minutes from Kyneton, Silver Brumby Trails provide country horse rides at a nice steady pace and stunning views. Each rider will be matched with a horse suited to their riding experience, first timers welcome!

4. Head underground to Cleveland Winery’s Cellar Door
A unique experience not to be missed when travelling to the Macedon Ranges as this is the only underground cellar door in the region!
